I have been working with Shannon for the past 4 years as my personal trainer. When I first started, exercising was not a part of my life. As a matter of fact, during our first session I told Shannon: "I hate working out". Shannon's positive "can and will do" attitude, motivating personality, knowledge of the body and what it needs, and variation of workouts has turned me into a person who looks forward to working out 5 days a week. Not only are her workouts interesting, fun and varied; but her kind personality and spunky sense of humor make it very enjoyable to work out. I wouldn't be where I am now without Shannon.

My name is Linda and I am a 78 year old woman. I have been working out with Shannon as my trainer for 9 years. She has seen me through 2 knee replacement surgeries. Because of her I was in good shape before the surgeries which resulted in very successful recoveries. Shannon provides sessions that include strengthening, aerobic exercise and balance. She keeps the workouts interesting and challenging with a lot of variety. Working out with Shannon has helped me maintain a high degree of fitness. In addition to working out with her, I walk 3 miles almost every day. I like to travel and can do so with energy and confidence. I am so grateful to her and hope to be able to continue working out with her for many more years.

I have been working out with Shannon since 2010. We have so much fun together. I really like that I don’t have to plan the workout. Shannon makes an effort to introduce variety and keep things from becoming boring. Workouts fly by as we share recipes. Shannon is also great about trying new activities. Yet, we still have our traditions: cartwheels on her birthday and pushups (at least our age) on mine. I’ve actually gained strength into my 50s (and lost weight).

I have lived an active, strenuous life, until recently. A loss of balance and a spinal stenosis slowed me down and required that I use a walker to assist my walking.
In my condition I knew I needed professional help. My daughter Susan, who teaches at Glacier Ridge in Verona told me about Shannon Mcguire’s physical training classes for seniors held in Verona. I contacted Shannon and set up a twice weekly, hour long session we conduct in our exercise room at All Saints Senior Apartments. Lois, my wife joins us during our second session.
After several years of working I can report MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I still need my walker for balance, but my upper-body strength is up to the task keeping me up tight and moving as I navigate the halls and elevators at All Saints and around town.
Shannon knows how much to push me and when to ease up, She shows me how to do the exercises properly. I sense that she has figured out how to achieve a full package as we work together to keep me going at a safe, sane pace for the foreseeable future.

My name is Kevin and I am a 65 year old client of Shannon’s. I have been taking her classes at Supreme and at her house for about 2 years. What I enjoy most about her classes is the variety of exercises she uses in them. No two classes are the same, although they are all great for cardiovascular fitness and core development. Her classes are structured in a way where you can begin at a lower level of exertion and increase your effort (and results) as you increase your core strength and cardiovascular fitness. It’s always a great, diverse and welcoming group of people and Shannon helps to bring out the best in us all.
